VeriFactu is a system created by the Spanish Tax Agency that establishes a set of technical, functional, and legal requirements obligating invoices to be generated and automatically sent to the Tax Agency in real time, without the possibility of being altered afterward. Its goal is to combat tax fraud and ensure invoice traceability.

Invoices must meet a series of requirements or characteristics:

• Immutability: The software must prevent issued invoices from being modified or deleted without leaving a record.
• Traceability: Each invoice must generate a digital fingerprint and be linked to the previous invoice.
• QR Code: All issued invoices must include a QR code that can be instantly verified, allowing confirmation that the invoice has indeed been correctly submitted through VeriFactu.
• Event logging: The system must store a record of all relevant events that occur within the software.
