No. At Xolo, we do not support income received in cryptocurrency as payment for professional services, even if they are later converted to EUR, USD, or other official currencies. This is due to our internal policies and our obligations under anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
Can I hold cryptocurrency as a personal investment?
Yes. Holding or declaring cryptocurrencies in your personal tax return is not a problem. What is not allowed is receiving freelance income directly in crypto, regardless of subsequent conversion.
What happens if I receive a payment in crypto?
If we detect that you are receiving professional income in crypto, we will contact you and offer the chance to adjust your payment method to an accepted legal tender (EUR, USD, etc.) from now on.
If you choose not to update your payment setup, unfortunately we will no longer be able to support you.
