Can I start a company without a business bank account?

Last updated: September 05, 2025

Yes, theoretically, your company can operate without a business bank account.

If your business is registered with Xolo Leap, it is acceptable to pay suppliers from your personal bank account or credit card temporarily, provided that the expenses are business-related and the suppliers have issued invoices to your company. You must collect these purchase invoices and submit them as company expenses. Once your business bank account is fully operational and has sufficient funds, you can reimburse these costs from the business account back to your personal account without incurring any additional tax. However, cash withdrawals are not permitted.

Additionally, you cannot issue sales invoices without a business bank account. If you need to register a payment processor or merchant account—such as PayPal or Stripe—to monetize your planned services, a valid business bank account is required.

Operating without a business bank account should be considered only a short-term solution during your company’s startup phase.
